After over two months, the classic cabaret Moulin Rouge has got its wings back – just over a week before the Olympic flame is to pass the landmark in Paris.
The four new wings in red and gold were inaugurated during a ceremony with cancan dancers in the Montmartre district on Friday evening.
The windmill without its wings made Paris empty. It was so sad, says the entertainment establishment's CEO Jean-Victor Clerico.
Parts of the iconic wings fell to the ground for unknown reasons at the end of April. No one was injured in the collapse of the enormous steel structure.
