A 92-year-old woman in Ängelholm sought medical attention due to vision changes in one eye. The woman contacted them repeatedly, but did not receive an appointment for surgery until a year later. By then, it was too late and she lost 91 percent of her vision in the eye.
The referral was made by an eye clinic in Ängelholm, where the woman had previously undergone cataract surgery, to a hospital in Malmö. Now, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo) is criticizing the clinic in Ängelholm for the protracted process, writes Helsingborgs Dagblad.
According to Ivo, the eye clinic does not meet the requirements for good and safe care.
