The 18-year-old is charged with gross negligence leading to another person's death, but was not present when the trial was to begin in the morning. He is now detained in his absence.

I informed the court yesterday that I had received notice that the client would not appear. He is abroad, but I have no further knowledge or comment on where, says the 18-year-old's lawyer Axel Östberg to SVT News Dalarna.

Now he has been detained in his absence, and then an arrest warrant will be issued via Interpol, and we'll see what happens.

The 14-year-old girl in Falun died almost two years ago after taking tramadol and drinking alcohol, a case that has received a lot of attention. The 18-year-old is suspected of having sold the tramadol to the girl. He has denied the crime.
