Two men are sentenced to 16 years' imprisonment for attempted murder and gross firearms offences after a shooting at the grandparents of a criminal man, reports Gothenburg Post.
The 25-year-old grandchild has previously been part of a criminal network in Gothenburg. However, he is now serving a two-year prison sentence for offences against the Act on Flammable and Explosive Substances.
The shooting occurred in Mölndal outside Gothenburg in October last year. The grandfather woke up to a bang but found no cause for the noise. It wasn't until the morning after that a bullet hole was discovered on the flat door.
A third person, a 15-year-old boy, is also sentenced to two years and four months' youth custody for his involvement in the shooting.
The reason for the shorter sentence for the teenager is, apart from his young age, according to the court, that it was clearly evident that he was exploited by others to commit the crime.
