Junibacken’s autumn seminar brings Clowns Without Borders into a conversation about laughter and grief in children’s lives. It asks how laughter can help people survive darkness, and why children need room for both hope and despair in war and peace.
The discussion brings together Farhad Mazi Esfahani, the organisation’s secretary-general, and clown and circus artist Camilla Rud, with Junibacken’s artistic director Mikael Kallin. Sara Danielsson, who leads Junibacken’s educational work, moderates. Rud also introduces the programme.
Before the discussion, visitors can explore Junibacken’s exhibitions and ride the Astrid Lindgren Story Train. Coffee and a sandwich are served in the restaurant. The seminar marks 30 years for both Junibacken and Clowns Without Borders in 2026, and connects children’s stories, play and theatre with the organisation’s work bringing performance and play to children affected by war and disasters.
