Shiffrin Clinches 101st World Cup Win as Swedes Struggle in Sun Valley
Mikaela Shiffrin ended a tough season at the top. The American took her 101st World Cup victory when she won the slalom in Sun Valley in superior style.
Jakobsen drove up strongly – still no chance
Kristoffer Jakobsen delivered a fine second run in the World Championship slalom in Swiss Wengen, and climbed seven places. It was only enough for a 20th place for the 30-year-old Swede.
The Swede far behind – the Norwegian second
After three consecutive failures, Kristoffer Jakobsen achieved a result in the World Championship – although far from the top. The Swede finished 22nd in the difficult slalom competition in Adelboden, where the "Norwegian ace" Lucas Pinheiro Braathen finished second.
Norwegian double victory as Jakobsen skied out
Slalom specialist Kristoffer Jakobsen could not follow up the success from Austrian Gurgl, where he became second three weeks ago after a superior second run. In Sunday's slalom in French Val d'Isère, it ended for the Swede already in the first run.
New success for samba-dancing Northerner
Four in the giant slalom premiere – and four in the slalom premiere. The comebacking Norwegian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen can ski even when he wears Brazil's colors.
Norwegian Super Success - Braathen Treated to Samba
Marcel Hirscher's sensational comeback and William Hansson's personal best, aside. A sad-dancing Norwegian stole the show in Sölden.
