The hunt for an Olympic ticket continues to stall. In Wengen, there was another setback for Kristoffer Jakobsen - who crashed out for the fifth time this season.

The Swedish slalom skier has had a dark season. Halfway through the winter, the 31-year-old still has no World Cup points – and therefore no Olympic berth.

With only a few days left until the selection, the situation is increasingly worrying.

In Wengen, Switzerland, the story was the same again. Jakobsen only reached two intermediate times before the run ended prematurely. In seven attempts this season, the Swede has crashed out on five occasions.

Among the Swedes, only Gustav Wissting and Fabian Ax Swartz qualified for the second run.

Ax Swartz finished 22nd and Wissting 27th.

The victory went to Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath, who defeated fellow Norwegian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen. In third place came another Norwegian skier, Henrik Kristoffersen.

None of the Swedish men have yet secured a place for the Olympics in Milan-Cortina in February.
