Money you get back when more preliminary tax was deducted during the year than your final tax turns out to be. It is paid after Skatteverket has processed your tax return, in several rounds over the year: the earliest for those who approved their return online without changes by the end of March, later rounds in June, August and December.

The refund only comes automatically if you have registered a bank account with Skatteverket, which you can do on My Pages. Otherwise it is sent another way and takes longer.

If your return is selected for a closer check, the refund can come in a later round.
