Russia wants to destroy Ukraine - but the war has now "returned home".
This is stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj in a speech on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day. In the speech, recorded at the front, Zelenskyj says that Russia will find out "what revenge is".
He who tries to sow evil in our land will reap its fruits in his own land. This is not a prophecy, not gloating or blind retaliation. This is justice.
Zelenskyj calls Russia's President Vladimir Putin a "sick man" who constantly threatens with "his red button".
Russia was after one thing: to destroy us. Instead, we are celebrating Ukraine's 33rd Independence Day today.
