More than 82,000 people have been evacuated in Beijing ahead of heavy rainfall, reports state Chinese media.

At least 44 people were killed in Beijing in rainy weather last week. Weather authorities have now issued new red warnings for Monday and Tuesday morning.

The authorities warn of a risk of flooding in the Miyun district, which was also severely affected last week, as well as Fangshan, Mentougou and Huairou.

31 of last week's deaths occurred at a nursing home in Miyun and local authorities have admitted that there were "gaps" in the disaster preparedness.
