For a few days ago, the Canadian singer-songwriter announced on his own website that he and the group The Chrome Hearts were dropping out of the music festival because it had become "too commercial" with BBC's involvement.
"We found out that BBC is now a partner to Glastonbury and that they wanted us to do a lot of things in a way that we weren't interested in," he wrote.
Now the 79-year-old music legend is backtracking and saying that the decision was based on "an error in the information he received".
"Luckily, the festival is now back in our plans and we're looking forward to playing. Hope to see you there!", Young writes on his website.
The organizers confirm that Young is back on board.
"What a start to the year! Neil Young is an artist that we at Glastonbury think very highly of. He does things his own way and that's why we love him", writes festival organizer Emily Eavis on
The Glastonbury festival takes place in Somerset, England, June 25-29.
