Two women who are accused of having planned to get married have been arrested in the Comoros nation, where same-sex relationships are prohibited, according to a prosecutor.
The women are being held in custody in the capital city of Moroni pending trial.
"It has been established that these two girls were in a loving relationship with each other and that they had been living together for nearly two years," the prosecutor said according to AFP.
They face up to two years in prison or fines equivalent to nearly 7,000 kronor.
