The WHO is to evacuate up to 1,000 women and children in acute need of care from Gaza to Europe over the coming months.
The evacuations will be carried out by the WHO in collaboration with the involved countries, according to the UN agency's European chief Hans Kluge.
The European office has already coordinated 600 medical evacuations from Gaza to seven European countries, since the war broke out in October last year.
It would never have been possible if we hadn't kept the dialogue open, says Kluge.
