Yes, it was a "Taylor Swift effect" on Stockholm's economy after the star's three acclaimed concerts in Stockholm in May, reports TV4.

According to a survey conducted by the analysis firm Upplevelseinstitutet on behalf of the City of Stockholm, Swift's visit generated 848 million kronor in additional revenue through tourism. Furthermore, an additional 431 million kronor in tax revenue was generated due to tourists' expenditure.

In total, 131,000 tourists visited Stockholm for Swift's concerts. Above all, tourists spent money on hotel rooms, restaurant visits, and entertainment. The revenue was higher than expected.

It's very positive figures for Stockholm, for the tourism industry, for our restaurants, hotels, shopping. Having Taylor Swift's three concerts in Stockholm means an awful lot, says Karin Wanngård (S), finance commissioner in Stockholm.
