The USA condemns the militant group M23 in Congo-Kinshasa after it captured a key central town in the country's eastern part.
"M23's continued advance, including the capture of the town of Massi last weekend, hinders the work towards reaching a peace agreement in eastern Congo-Kinshasa while civilians are injured and forcibly displaced", it says in a statement from the American Foreign Ministry.
According to the USA, M23 is violating the ceasefire that the parties agreed on in August.
