Georgia's government is doing what it can to please Russia, according to an accusation from Ukraine.
The Foreign Ministry in Kyiv expresses disappointment over Georgia's government saying it will "freeze" negotiations on EU membership for four years ahead.
"This decision, like the use of violence against peaceful protests, constitutes evidence of the restrictions on democratic processes taking place in the country in order to please Moscow", the statement continues.
Georgia's constitution states that the country should strive for EU membership. The process has, however, been frozen by the EU earlier, precisely because the Georgian government has pushed through laws criticized for being modeled on Russia, which go against fundamental criteria for membership.
