It was last week that the USA was reported to have urged Ukraine to start mobilizing men who have turned 18 years old and above to quickly get military reinforcement at the front in the Russian invasion war.

The current age for mobilization is 25 years, and has previously been lowered from 27 years of age.

Our stance is as transparent as it can be, we will not lower the mobilization age, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Around one million Ukrainians are currently fighting for the country, according to the American news agency AP.

Ukraine's military estimates that it needs to arm an additional 160,000 soldiers for battle. The White House believes that even more recruitments are required.
