Two people previously arrested on suspicion of deadly violence against a two-year-old have now been released by the district court in Esbjerg, report Danish media.
The case involves a 52-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man who were suspected of grossly negligent homicide. So far, it is not clear from the Danish authorities' statements whether they are relatives of the child.
The two-year-old was taken to hospital in Jutland during the night leading up to Saturday and died during the following afternoon. The police have since been on site at a residence and conducted interviews to create a picture of the circumstances. Then, a crime suspicion was also raised against these two individuals, according to a police press release. Now they have been released.
