The new Payment Authority, which is to detect and warn about incorrect benefit payments and suspected benefit fraud, has now sent its first notifications to the relevant authorities.
This concerns approximately 300 notifications, primarily to the Social Insurance Agency and the Central Student Finance Committee (CSN). They will then stop the incorrect payments and send repayment claims.
Regarding the Social Insurance Agency, it concerns 10-15 million kronor that the Payment Authority estimates have been paid out incorrectly, while a sum for CSN is still lacking, reports Ekot.
According to the Social Insurance Agency's calculations, sickness benefit of nearly 2.3 billion kronor was paid out on incorrect grounds during the entire year 2021.
