It was on Wednesday that a 50-year-old Swedish man suffered a heart attack and died near Lake Kobbvatnet in Sørfold Municipality, near Narvik, during the filming of TV4's new reality program "Berget".
Now TV4 is interrupting the filming. For Aftonbladet, the channel confirms that the death occurred in front of the camera.
It was when the camera was rolling, says Karin Nyman to the newspaper.
The filming of the grueling reality series, which involves participants climbing a mountain in Norway, had started the day before with rapper Petter as the host and was supposed to last for two weeks.
Now it won't be so.
The participants and production team have been through a tough experience and need to go home and process what they've been through. So, everyone will leave the filming location on Friday and we'll take a break in the filming. What happens after that, we haven't made any decisions about, says Karin Nyman to TT.
TV4 has not decided to cancel "Berget", so the filming may resume.
All such decisions will come later. It's important not to make too big decisions too early in a situation like this.
TV4 has launched an investigation into what happened and whether the channel or the production company behind the filming did anything wrong.
That's always done, especially when an incident like this occurs. But one should remember that this was likely a medical incident, says Karin Nyman.
