Translator Anders Bodegård has passed away after a long illness. Bodegård was one of the foremost translators of his generation, specialised in Polish and French literature. Most notable are his interpretations of Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska's poetry. He also translated Ryszard Kapuściński's reportage books.
Anders Bodegård was 80 years old. To mark his 80th birthday, "Kontraband kontradans" was published – a collection of his articles on Polish and French literature, translation and language issues.
