One of the towers in artist Lars Vilks' work Nimis on Kullaberg outside Mölle has collapsed, reports Helsingborgs Dagblad.
The tower had been unstable since a month ago when a stone block fell and crushed one of the supporting beams, according to the newspaper. Over the weekend, the tower finally collapsed.
Nimis friends, a voluntary association for preserving the artwork, will now begin work on rebuilding the tower. The artwork was built, without permission, in 1980 and consists of several wooden constructions made of driftwood that together form paths, rooms, and towers.
Since Lars Vilks' death in a traffic accident in 2021, it is Lars Vilks' memorial fund that owns the artwork and, together with Nimis friends, is responsible for maintenance.
