Thousands of doctors in England are going on strike on Thursday – for the eleventh time.
The five-day strike starting on Thursday includes doctors early in their careers, who make up a vital part of the country's healthcare system.
The conflict over pay and working conditions has been ongoing between the doctors and the government since the end of 2022. In January, the doctors went on strike for six days, which led to thousands of doctor's appointments and operations being cancelled.
The strike will end on Tuesday, two days before the election on 4 July, where the country's healthcare system is one of the most burning issues.
The doctors' union BMA says it is ready for dialogue and has already had some talks with the opposition party Labour, which is leading in opinion polls ahead of the election.
