The program host, author, and journalist Maria Scherer has passed away after a short illness, confirms the family to TT. In the 70s, she led a number of programs on SVT, such as "Sweden's Magazine", "Evening Open" and "Night Café".
She made her debut as an author in 1974 and broke through internationally, mainly in Germany, with the love trilogy "The Imperial Waltz", "The Silver Trumpet" and "The Masked Ball". Her latest novel "The Good You Want" was published in 2009.
Maria Scherer was 80 years old.
