The actress Josefin Neldén plays the lead role in the reality-based drama about the swimmer Sally Bauer, who in 1939 decided to cross the English Channel despite the impending outbreak of war and the risk of losing her son.

The filming was fantastic, according to director Frida Kempff, but at the same time the toughest project she has taken on with storms, hail, borrelia, stomach flu, and covid as obstacles.

I've had a wonderful team both in front of and behind the camera, and to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival is a dream. TIFF is one of the world's largest film festivals and a great start for the film, which now gets to meet the international audience, says Frida Kempff in a press release from Film i Väst.

"The Swedish torpedo" will have its Swedish cinema premiere on November 15.
