The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute warns of snowfall

Up to 15 centimeters of snow is expected to fall in certain parts of the country on Monday, and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) is warning of hazardous road conditions.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for snowfall in Dalsland, Värmland, northern Örebro County, western Västmanland, and southwestern Dalarna. The warning is in effect from the afternoon and is expected to remain in place until late evening. In Dalsland, the snow will later turn to rain.

In a short period of time, 5 to 10 centimeters of snow can fall, and locally in Värmland and northern Örebro County, up to 15 centimeters can fall.

On Monday, strong winds will also move in towards the Swedish coast, where a yellow warning has been issued for Skagerrak from 04:00. In the evening, the strong winds will move further up towards the Baltic Sea north of Gotland.
