Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) believes that the Minister for Migration can remain in the government. ”Of course, I still have confidence in Johan Forssell”, he says in a written comment to TT.

It was on July 1 that the newspaper Expo was able to reveal that a minor "close relative" of a minister could be linked to a right-wing extremist environment and has participated in activities with the Nazi and violence-approving Activist Club Sweden.

On Thursday morning, Johan Forssell stepped forward in TV4's "Nyhetsmorgon". In an interview, he described himself as "shocked and horrified", but he has no plans to resign as minister.

This will not be demanded by his boss either.

"As soon as Johan was reached by the information, he has followed the Government Offices' security routines and in connection with this, I have also been informed by Säpo."

Kristersson states that Johan Forssell has had "frank conversations with his teenager" and that the son has subsequently broken off contact with the right-wing extremist contacts.

"I think Johan Forssell has acted as a responsible parent should do when one finds out that one's child is doing wrong and is in bad company. I know that many parents of teenagers have their own experiences of different kinds of difficult conversations”.

"Of course, I still have confidence in Johan Forssell.”

The Left Party wants to call Forssell to the Riksdag's social insurance committee to "put the cards on the table", something that the Social Democrats and the Green party are backing.
