In recent times, Swedish loose candy has been noticed on, among other things, Tiktok, and it is now having an effect on Cloetta as well.
In the company's annual report, it is written that sales in the USA increased by approximately 30 percent during 2024.
"The recent increased interest in loose weight candy in the USA, known on social media as "Swedish candy", continues to drive growth in our relatively limited operations in North America – and is a good example of our opportunities to grow further", writes the company's CEO Katarina Tell in the report.
The company's net sales for the quarter increased by 4.7 percent, while the operating profit rose to 252 million kronor compared to 174 million kronor during the same period the previous year. The board of directors is simultaneously proposing a dividend of 1.10 kronor per share, compared to 1.00 kronor last year.
