Unusually many ATMs are now out of order and according to the company Bankomat, the situation is expected to get worse, reports Aftonbladet.

The situation may worsen before it gets better, announces Bankomat on its website. The reason for the mess is that the company since the turn of the year itself has started handling cash transport to and from their machines, while they previously procured that service.

"Unfortunately, the problems have become worse than we anticipated", the company writes on its website.

The major stumbling block is that the system the company uses to count money does not work, which makes the counting take longer than it should, reports Bankomat, which takes the blame for the debacle.

”That the ATMs should work is our responsibility and when they do not, it is our fault. What we now see is therefore a major failure”.
