The Stock Market Started the Week with a Sharp Fall

Monday's trading was characterized by sharp stock market falls, and the OMXS index fell for the third trading day in a row. Among the large companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, only Nibe went against the trend.

The trading week began as the previous one ended: in the red. The broad OMXS index fell by 2.6 percent, with broad cross-industry declines.

Almost all companies on the OMXS30 lost value during the day, and the index as a whole fell by 2.3 percent. The worst performer was cloud service company Sinch, which ended the day down 5.4 percent.

The exception was heat pump manufacturer Nibe, which rose by 0.7 percent. The company on the list that fell the least was Saab, down 0.4 percent.

The stock market anxiety that prevails is also affecting the major banks. SEB fell by 2.8 percent, while Swedbank dropped by 4.2 percent. Handelsbanken fell by 1.9 percent.

On the leading European stock exchanges, it's also red, just like in Stockholm. Both the London and Paris stock exchanges closed at around minus 2 percent.
