The crisis club HV71 recruits the former star defender Joseph LaLeggia.

The Canadian, who played for the Jönköping club during the 2022-23 season, returns after a season in Switzerland.

LaLeggia scored 33 goals in 40 matches for HV71 and his 16 goals were a club record for an HV defender in a season.

"There is no doubt that LaLeggia will add even more edge to our defense", says general manager Chris Abbott in a press release.

Injuries to the Finnish defenders Oliwer Kaski and Mikael Seppälä mean that HV71, second to last in SHL, needed to reinforce.
