I was sitting in the school cafeteria eating lunch when we heard a bang. My colleague and I headed towards the sound, and when we were almost there, we heard it bang several more times.

They realized it was a shootout and he escaped through a back door along with many others.

I met people on my way out who were paralyzed. You stand still, can't move. You have to get those people moving, he says to the radio.

He describes surreal scenes with people who had been shot and were bleeding. According to Blom, the exercises conducted at the school prior to the event with ongoing deadly violence have saved many lives.

We have examples of teachers physically holding back students, pushing students into classrooms, locking doors, doing everything they could to block the doors, ripping down sound-absorbing panels and blocking the windows.

Students who initially dragged a wounded student out to a private car and drove to the hospital, he says to P4.
