Sunday's cycling race in Singapore will be his absolute last in his cycling career.
This is announced by legendary Mark Cavendish on Instagram.
"I have had the luck to do what I love for almost 20 years and now I can say that I have achieved everything I can on the bike", he writes.
"Now I am ready to see what the next chapter has to offer."
The 39-year-old from the UK set the record for the number of stage wins in the Tour de France this summer, when he pedaled to his 35th victory and thus surpassed Belgian Eddy Merckx's 34.
