The contractions had started in the middle of the night. Then the pregnant woman's husband floored it and drove 148 kilometers per hour on the highway to pick her up and drive her to the delivery. Now he is being sentenced for speeding, reports HD/Sydsvenskan.
When the man was stopped by the police, he claimed it was an emergency – there was only a week left until the estimated delivery, the contractions had started, and his wife was at her mother's home, who lacked a driver's license.
The man was held by the police for over half an hour before he was allowed to pick up his wife. And Helsingborg's district court writes in a verdict that the situation was not so urgent that there was a risk to life, health, or property. Therefore, he is sentenced to pay 4,000 kronor in fines.
