The author and journalist Dick Sundevall has passed away after a car accident, confirms the family to Magasinet Paragraf, where he was editor-in-chief.

Our dad passed away yesterday. We wish to be left alone in our grief. He will be enormously missed, says Fia Sundevall to the magazine.

In the 1990s, Dick Sundevall made several reports on the environment in prisons for SVT's investigative program "Striptease".

In 2003, he was awarded the Democracy Prize by the Ordfront association, along with four other individuals. This was after being involved in the acquittal of Joy Rahman, who was wrongly convicted of murder and spent eight years in prison.

He also wrote several books, including "Tre bröder", together with Christian Holmén. For this, they won the Guldspaden award in 2005.

He also wrote the book "Du ska bli pappa", about fatherhood and preparations for having children.

Dick Sundevall was 78 years old.
