A man who has been detained, suspected of involvement in a fatal shooting at a restaurant in Midsommarkransen in southern Stockholm, has been released.

The 27-year-old man was detained last week as reasonably suspected of aiding and abetting murder.

When a person is detained on reasonable suspicion, you must be able to present something new that strengthens the suspicion to probable cause. At present, nothing like that has emerged, so we can do that, says prosecutor Wictor Beyer, who decided to revoke the detention on Wednesday morning.

A 25-year-old man was shot to death with multiple shots at the restaurant on Saturday evening, August 3. Many people were said to have been in the premises, and several people are reported to have witnessed the murder.

The police are working quite intensively with different leads right now. We'll have to wait and see what it yields, says Wictor Beyer about the investigation.
