A man suspected of killing a local mayor and another person in Austria earlier in the week has been found dead, according to the police.
A large-scale search operation for the "extremely dangerous" man began on Monday, after the two dead bodies were found.
A "dispute over hunting rights" likely lay behind the shooting, according to officials.
Hundreds of police officers and helicopters have been involved in the search efforts, primarily in the Mühlviertel region in northern Austria. On Saturday, the man was found dead, and the suspect likely took his own life, according to the police.
The body was found near a vehicle he had abandoned in the forest, near the site where he is accused of killing the victims.
