A 19-year-old reported that he was sick to his stomach and missed the enlistment. Now he has been fined 2,000 kronor. The Södertörn District Court believes that the man, through negligence, broke the law on total defense duty, reports Dagens Juridik.
The man called on the morning of the same day as the enlistment was to take place to the Conscription and Assessment Agency to report that he was sick to his stomach and could not attend. Since no one answered, he instead sent an email.
The Conscription and Assessment Agency, however, wanted to see a doctor's certificate afterwards. The court notes that no such certificate was received.
