We have a special event with extra resources that we are working on due to the trade meeting that is taking place. We are very used to working with this type of official visit and we have planned for it, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson at the Stockholm police.

Other police regions are contributing with reinforcements to Stockholm for the meeting that takes place on Monday and Tuesday, which Skagerlind emphasizes is customary at larger events.

Is it particularly strenuous to handle such an event in the middle of summer?

We have extensive experience of handling this type of event since we are a capital region, so we must of course have preparedness even during the summer.

As always, it's about making priorities and moving resources where they are needed, she says.

We have done that here as well and what I see is that it has gone well.

The police have announced that parts of central Stockholm, Djurgården, Gärdet and Östermalm may be subject to drone surveillance in connection with the meeting.

It is a good tool when it comes to order and safety and also if any criminal investigation would be needed afterwards, says Carina Skagerlind.
