Rod Stewart has long been at odds with the authorities in Essex County in eastern England over the poor roads in the area. Two years ago, the 79-year-old rock icon posted a picture on Instagram where he himself fills in potholes on the road to his house near Harlow and complained that his Ferrari had been damaged.
Now, Stewart writes on Instagram that he may have to sell his luxury cars, according to ITV News.
"I'm very fortunate and grateful to own five fantastic sports cars, which I think are real works of art."
Among other things, Rod Stewart owns cars from brands such as Ferrari and Lamborghini.
"Unfortunately, due to the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them. I've been driving these iconic Italian cars since the 1970s and really love them."
Rod Stewart broke through in the late 1960s and is known for his hit songs "Do ya think I'm sexy" and "Sailing".
A spokesperson for Essex notes that the county has increased its budget by 37 million pounds for various road projects.
"As a consequence, more potholes around the country will be repaired, so that Sir Rod Stewart and other Essex residents can sail along on our roads."
