North Korea has sent thousands of soldiers to support Russia. The leaders of the countries have tied closer bonds as Russia has also become isolated from Western countries.
According to North Korea's archenemy South Korea, at least 300 North Korean soldiers have fallen so far. Various reports spreading from Ukraine's allies in the West claim that several thousand North Koreans have been killed or injured so badly that they had to be taken out of combat.
"Now that it has been around four months since the deployment of forces to the war between Russia and Ukraine, North Korea is assumed to be stepping up preparations for further actions and deployments considering the number of fatalities and captives that have occurred," it says in a statement from the South Korean military's general staff, according to the news agency Yonhap.
