Around 300 North Korean soldiers have been killed and 2,700 have been injured when they fought on Russia's side in the war against Ukraine, according to South Korean reports.

The information that 300 North Korean soldiers have been killed comes from the South Korean parliamentarian Lee Seong-Kweun, who, along with others, has been informed about the situation by South Korea's intelligence service.

According to Lee Seong-Kweun, the North Korean soldiers were pressured by North Korean authorities to commit suicide rather than be taken prisoner.

Ukraine's President Zelenskyj has previously spoken of 4,000 dead or injured North Koreans, while South Korea and the USA have previously mentioned around 1,000.
