The American rapper Snoop Dogg has been chosen to carry the Olympic torch. He will carry the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, the Paris suburb where the Olympic Stadium and water sports facilities are located.
The torch relay is not the rapper's only appearance at the OS 2024. He will also be an OS commentator for the American TV station NBC.
Other torchbearers in Saint-Denis are the French actress Laetitia Casta, the French rapper MC Solaar, and the Ukrainian former pole vaulter Sergej Bubka.
