The killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's body can be a bargaining chip to get back Israeli hostages from Gaza, according to reports to CNN.

Sinwar's remains are currently being kept at a secret location in Israel, according to local media, since he was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Wednesday.

Over 100 Israeli hostages are still being held captive in Gaza, and the authorities are now considering how to "quickly put pressure" on Hamas to get them back. However, it is unclear how many of them are still alive.

Two sources tell CNN that Sinwar's body can be seen as a bargaining chip, and that the only way the remains will be returned to Gaza is likely as an exchange for hostages.

At the same time, according to a source, there are risks involved in returning the body to Gaza, as it could strengthen support for Hamas.
