The Secret Service's failure during Donald Trump's campaign meeting in Pennsylvania is to be investigated by the Department of Homeland Security in the USA, according to AP.
At the same time, the head of the police authority, Kimberly Cheatle, is being called to the House of Representatives' oversight committee for an interrogation on Monday.
The Republican presidential candidate Trump was shot at while standing at the podium during the meeting and was injured in the ear. One person died in the shooting and two were seriously injured before the shooter was killed by security personnel.
The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, had climbed up onto a roof adjacent to the campaign meeting. Massive criticism has been directed at the Secret Service, which was responsible for securing the area prior to Trump's speech.
There is no date yet for when the investigation will begin.
