Truck manufacturer Scania will deliver 475 heavy vehicles with an option for an additional 375 units, according to a press release from Scania.
Volvo will deliver 300 flatbed trucks, with an option for an additional 200, according to FMV.
"We are both proud and honored that the Swedish Armed Forces have chosen Scania as the supplier for this strategically important order. It is, of course, a recognition of our vehicles and our ability to meet the tough requirements set for defense purposes," says Johan Uhlin, CEO of Scania Sweden in the press release.
The order from FMV is Scania Sweden's largest order since the 1980s. The new vehicles will be delivered between 2025-2027.
