After many delays, the pioneering space project Polaris Dawn is now underway. During six days in space, the crew will, among other things, make history's first privately arranged spacewalk.
The rocket from Elon Musk's company Space X lifted off from Florida on Tuesday. It is a completely private venture, made by Jared Isaacman, who has become extremely wealthy on his payment processing company Shift 4 Payments.
The launch has been delayed both due to technical reasons and weather. Since the spacecraft will be out for almost a week without docking with any space station, unusually stable weather conditions are required. The four crew members are expected to return in approximately six days.
