Only two days after Spain won the European Championship gold, the Spanish Football Association's chairman Pedro Rocha is suspended for two years, according to several Spanish media outlets.
The Sports Tribunal in Spain is reported to have suspended Rocha for making decisions he was not entitled to, such as the dismissal of General Secretary Andreu Camps.
According to a copy of the decision published by a journalist for Onda Cero on the X platform, Rocha is not allowed to hold a position in any sports federation during his two-year suspension.
Rocha took over the role as chairman after Luis Rubiales was dismissed in 2023, after he kissed Spanish national team player Jenni Hermoso without her consent during the World Championship celebrations the same year.
Both Rocha and Rubiales are already under investigation for corruption, which allegedly occurred in the federation during Rubiales' time as chairman.
Iusport writes that Rocha can appeal the decision and, in connection with this, can send a request to remain in his position until the appeal is handled.
