At least twelve people have been killed by the paramilitary force Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Darfur region, according to activists.
Five more people have been injured, reports the local resistance committee, one of hundreds of volunteer groups coordinating support around the country.
Three people were taken hostage by RFS after the attack north of the city of Kutum, according to the committee.
The civil war in Sudan broke out in April last year, when former cooperation partners within the army and RSF began fighting each other.
The war is paralyzing large parts of the country, but with extra high intensity in the capital area of Khartum and in the Darfur region.
