According to reports, an agreement has been reached between the countries, which provides North Korea with technical assistance from Russia to develop various types of drones for mass production.

The agreement on drone development is said to be in exchange for North Korean forces participating in battles to support Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.

Intelligence services in Ukraine, the US, and South Korea have stated that they have evidence that more than 10,000 soldiers from North Korea have fought on Russia's behalf in the Kursk area. Ukraine launched an offensive against the Kursk region in August.

At the end of January, Ukraine's military assessed that North Korean soldiers who had fought in Kursk had retreated from the battlefield.

At the same time, Russia is said to be reluctant to support North Korea in its development of nuclear weapons, due to concerns that North Korean nuclear tests complicate the country's relations with the outside world.

Last year, Russia's and North Korea's leaders, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-Un, agreed on closer military cooperation.
